Tata WPL 2023 Auction - Know more
On Feb 13th, 2023 409 cricketers went under the hammer at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. A total of 1525 players registered for the inaugural Women premiere league player auction & the final list was pruned to 409 players.
A maximum of 90 slots were available with five teams, with 30 being slotted for overseas players. Opener and Vice- Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team Smriti Mandhana got the highest bid of the auction as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought her for a whopping 3.4 Crores.

The inaugural edition of the women premiere league is set to be played in Mumbai from March 4 till 26, 2023. A total of 22 matches will be played with the Brabourne stadium & DY Patil stadium playing host to the marquee tournament.
